Transformation Tuesday-Just For Mom's Challenge Group Results!

One year ago, in March 2014 I signed up to be a Beachbody Coach.

I had no idea what I was getting into. I had no idea I just found my passion.

When I signed up I was unhappy, inside and out and I wanted to change. I signed up for a discount and the accountability.  I knew if I told my friends and family what I was doing, I would be more likely to actually do it.  I wanted to lose weight.  I wanted to be happy in my own skin.  I wanted to be healthy.

I gained so much more than I ever thought possible! Not only did I regain my happiness with my body, but I also got healthy.  I have made my whole family healthier.  Although you can see my physical changes and results, the bigger change is the one you cannot see.  The change that was made inside.  The joy and passion I have found through being a Coach.  The best part is that I get to help others, outside my immediate family get their smiles and confidence back too! One pound at a time!

My Challenge Group last month was Just For Mom's.  It was a 30 day group focused on helping other moms, just like me, get healthy. In just 30 days these amazing ladies were able to juggle their schedules, babies, husbands, jobs and busy lives AND lose 53 pounds! I am so amazingly proud of all the hard work these ladies put in.  It's not easy to make new habits, to change your lifestyle, but they did it!

This is why I LOVE being a Beachbody Coach! I offer Challenge Groups, like Just For Mom's, every month, and every month I am seeing lives changed for the better, and people getting healthy.  I LOVE what I do because there is nothing more empowering than helping someone achieve their goals!

If you are interested in joining a Challenge Group or joining my team, then let's chat! Find me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/kayla.gossett.1) or send me an email. I would love to share my passion with you!

Insanity Max:30 Progress: End of Month 1

I am very pleased with my results so far. I am excited to jump into Month 2!

I am down 2.6 lbs and 7 inches! The best part is that I feel great and so much stronger!

Week 4 I was finally able to make it through an entire workout without Maxing Out, just in time to step it up for Month 2!

In one of the videos Shaun T asks what do you do when you feel like you can't do one more?

One girl has the best answer, "When I feel like I can't do one more, I do 3!"
This is my motto for Month 2.
It begins tomorrow...

Mom's Only Challenge Group!

As mom's we tend to get lost in the shuffle of being mom. We neglect our own needs in order to take care of everyone else. We struggle to find the time for ourselves, but it is so important and will help make us better moms!
I am looking for 5 moms that are ready to be the best version of themselves for you and your family. In this fitness accountability group I will help you lose weight and get healthy, all while still being MOM. I will also give you tips to get the WHOLE family healthy!
Space is limited! Comment or message me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/kayla.gossett.1) for more info!

Insanity Max:30 Progress Day 18

This program is no joke.  I have done T25 and Insanity, but this really does take you to a whole new level.  And I love it!

However, it is not easy.  These workouts are HARD, and it takes extra motivation to not only complete the workout but to really give it my ALL every time.  Isn't that what I should have been doing all along anyway? Yay, but this program is designed to track your time and actually see your progression. That is KEY for my motivation.  Without keeping track of my time, I know I would have given up too early during some of these workouts. I am competitive, but this program forces me to compete with myself everyday. It is so emotionally satisfying to know that I gave each workout my absolute best!

To motivate myself, before each workout I check my calendar that is provided with the program (thanks Beachbody!).  I look at which workout I am doing that day, and what my Max Out time was the last time I did that particular workout.  Then I challenge myself to go at least 2 minutes longer than I did the last time.  It is so empowering! I feel like I can conquer the world after I complete my workout...well maybe after the soreness fades. Haha!

Thankfully there are lots of way to measure your progress during a workout program because the scale has NOT moved at all! 18 days in and my weight is the same. HOWEVER, I feel so much better, healthier, stronger, and there are lots of inches lost. Waist, hips, arms and thighs all lost inches. I didn't measure my calves at the beginning, but I wish I had because my super cute, tall boots fit much easier (which anyone else with large calves will understand how AMAZING that is!).

This program is all about MENTAL strength.  Pushing yourself in every workout, sticking to the nutrition guide, and I am definitely up to the challenge. Stay tuned because I plan to have amazing results by Day 60! ;)

A Story of Stress and Will Power

I could have made so many excuses why I should NOT start my new program, Insanity MAX:30 or Challenge Group this week! So many reasons!

*we are just getting back into our routine

*my daughter's birthday will include dessert, and probably a carb filled dinner, since those are her favorites

*my husband was going to do the program with me but injured his knee and was given doctors orders to rest it for 6 weeks

*I'm tired, so very tired

Truth BOMB #1: There is NEVER a good time to start! NEVER!

Life will continue happening whether you are on a healthy journey or not, so if you keep putting off  your start date, you will never start.

So, I took my own advice and I started on Monday, despite my life getting in the way.

Truth BOMB #2: Once you start don't quit because one thing derails you! Get back on it!

In addition to the list of excuses I already knew about, there was a sudden health issue that came up with my Dad.  Something we thought was under control and on the mend, suddenly took a turn for the worst and he had to have surgery right away. Like, clear the OR tomorrow...he needs this now. This is incredibly stressful for a daughter that LOVES her Daddy and is too far away to be there when he needed me.  I had to rely on phone updates, instead of being there in the waiting room. That is hard. It's so hard. It took every ounce of my self control to not call every 10 minutes or text for updates.  I had to trust that my stepmom would call when she had news (which she did!), but it's so hard to wait.

Using all my self-control to stay away from my phone made my other weakness even weaker...stress eating.  All I wanted was the comfort of stuffing my face with anything I could find in the pantry.  Thankfully I had already cleaned out the pantry before starting on Monday, so I would have really had to dig to find something.  I kept walking into the kitchen and then talking myself out of eating something, because I wasn't hungry.  I knew that. I knew I was only going to eat because I was stressed out.  I also knew that if I gave in, I would immediately feel guilty. I have goals to reach and this wasn't going to get me there.

I decided to redirect.  I got on my knees and I prayed. I prayed a lot. For my dad mostly, but also for my will power. When I got a chance to talk to my Dad I wanted to be happy and positive, not feeling guilty and down on myself, because it wasn't about me. It was about him. I had not done my workout yet, so I popped Sweat Intervals in and decided to really give it my all.

It worked! Not only did I get my very best Insanity MAX:30 time, but I felt so much better knowing that I had done something positive during that stressful time.  It's not glamorous, but here I am all sweaty  and hair a mess after my workout...

I was able to talk to my Dad for a just a couple minutes later on after his surgery.  He is doing well and will hopefully be going home soon.

The moral of this story is: it's not about perfect timing or doing it perfectly, it's about STAYING THE COURSE. It's about starting this journey even when it's imperfect, and learning as you go to do it better. 9 months ago I would have never had the will power or self-control to start unless the timing was perfect. 9 months ago I would never have had the will power or self-control to close the pantry door and work out instead.  But through many, MANY failures I have learned that this is what will get me to my goals; this is what will make me happy.  :)

I should note: my will power does not always win. But more on that later. Today I want to focus on this success, because it took everything I had to do it and I am proud of my progress.
